School-Aged Children Screening Program (SACSP)

Uncorrected refractive error is one of the leading causes of visual impairment among school-aged children in Bangladesh. Many children are mistakenly labeled as slow learners or inattentive simply because they cannot see the chalkboard.

Under DECF's School-Aged Children Screening Program (SACSP), specialized teams visit primary and secondary schools across Rangpur, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, and Gaibandha. Teachers are trained in preliminary vision testing using E-charts.

Children identified with visual deficits receive detailed examinations on-site, and high-quality prescription glasses are dispensed directly at their school. Children needing surgery or therapy are transported to DECF base hospital.

Clinical Result & Impact

Massive Academic Enhancement & Glasses Provided.
